Bio
Phillip Graybill is a New York City based photographer who specializes in portrait, water, landscape and lifestyle documentary photography.
He has worked with Los Angeles based Artists in Residence (http://www.AINR.com), which produces unique limited-edition art publications. His credits include Sigur Ros collector's art book, "In a Frozen Sea: A Year With Sigur Ros", photographed in Iceland; portrait work for British band, Underworld; album artwork for New York based band, Metric. Phillip shot the artwork for the Nine Inch Nails' collector's book and his photos were used for the Ghost Album I-V cover art. Phillip's art was also featured on stage during the most recent Nine Inch Nails "Lights In the Sky" concert.
Phillip also runs Graybill Studio, which produces commissioned, custom-designed fine art for personal and commercial spaces. Working with his clients, Phillip uses his lens to tell a story and create emotion where there were only blank walls. "The idea is to take you away from what's outside your front door - the bustling, the shoving, the rushing - and when you get home you can breathe," says Phillip. "That's what I'm focusing on now: finding something else happening in a photograph, discovering that which is organic."
Phillip contributed to the New York Photo Group Salon gallery show in SoHo, New York in March 2010. His work is also being featured in the Smiley Faces Foundation photo exhibition alongside such photographic luminaries as Peter Lindbergh and Nigel Barker.
A graduate of Creative Circus in Atlanta, GA, Phillip has done commercial work for British men's fashion line, Buckler and has shot for W Asia among other publications.
